Annual MLK & Presidents' Ski Weekends
Dates: Friday through Monday: January 16th - 19th & February 13 - 16th
This is our annual trip to cure those holiday blues, get out for some fresh air, and some winter fun!
Place: 1123 State Route 28, Warrensburg, New York, NY • Price: $210.00/per person
Women About has rented the Glen Lodge for our exclusive use, located just outside of Warrensburg. GlenLodge is a short drive from Gore Mountain (downhill), Garnet Hill and Lapland Lake cross country touring centers. There are also numerous back country trails in the area for skiing and snow shoeing (or hiking if there is no snow). The weekendwill be a lot of fun; usually people split up into groups depending on what they are interested in doing each day, and we typically come together again in the evening to talk, play games, eat and more.

Book Club upcoming date
December's book selection will be Lucky Us by Amy Bloom, a short, vibrant novel following two plucky half-sisters who, on the eve of World War 2, decide to escape the confines of their small town existence by going to Hollywood to reinvent themselves. In the process, they get caught up in a series of romantic entanglements with women and experience both the joys and heartaches of romantic love. We will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at a restaurant in Greenwich Village.
This fabulous movie is based on the memoir: Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail written by Cheryl Strayed. Reese Witherspoon stars as the author who decided to hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail alone as a way to heal herself following her divorce, the death of her mother and years of self‑destructive behavior. We’ll find an easily accessible, centrally located theater to see. We’ll have a cheap & fabulous dinner at 5 p.m. followed by a 7:30 p.m. show.
Nostalgia Train Show
Join us for the Transit Museum’s annual holiday special. On Sundays in December the MTA runs their beautiful vintage trains. All the cars are from the 1930s to the 1970s with ads from their respective periods. Re-experience the charm of the wicker seats, ceiling fans and incandescent lights, which were state-of-the-art when these cars were first put into service. We’ll meet at 1:30 p.m. on the Lower East Side. Scrumptious meal to follow.
